The Power of Us: How We Connect, Act and Innovate Together– David Price, 2020

Just when you’re feeling like things will never get better, along comes something that restores faith in humanity.

Just when you’re feeling like things will never get better, along comes something that restores faith in humanity. Building on themes explored in his first book, Open: How We’ll Live, Work and Learn in the Future, David Price explores the ingredients for successful collaboration both within, and beyond the boundary walls of, organisations.

The Internet has opened up our lives, providing the potential for people anywhere on the planet to come together to problem-solve. Hyperconnectivity and open access to information and knowledge is transforming the way we undertake business in the 2020s.

Against the backdrop of COVID-19, the book provides multiple case-studies of how people across the world are collaborating to tackle thorny societal challenges and innovate, creating value for the many, not just the few.

Some of the principles outlined may feel radical by comparison with conventional business operating principles. But there’s no such thing as ‘back to normal' now. Given the weaknesses the pandemic has exposed in so many of our societal systems, it’s easy to feel despondent. We all need as many stories of hope as we can find, and The Power of Us is a superb starting place.
