asynco is an international community of practice for those exploring, pioneering and shaping the future of work.
Multiple global forces are converging to accelerate shifts in the way we work. Within the knowledge economy, demand for distributed, asynchronous, hybrid and remote work is on the rise.
asynco members convene to share knowledge, expertise, insights and good practices about the future of work, as it is being created. With backgrounds in a range of backgrounds including knowledge management, enterprise social networks, workplace learning, digital collaboration tools, internal communication, enterprise technology, organisation design and development, next-generation hiring and vital skills education and transfer, members share a passion for creating inclusive and engaging workplaces where all contributors enjoy their work.
Above all, members appreciate the myriad benefits of co-creation and social learning, recognising – and regularly practising – the attitudes and behaviours that underpin trust and successful teamwork.
By becoming a member of asynco, you gain access to a peer-support network of long-time advocates and practitioners of remote, distributed and asynchronous work.
No longer alone in this new world of work, you get to learn from those who have gone before – the pioneers. And be part of a community committed to shaping an inclusive, fair and equitable future of work.
Whether you are still acclimatising to remote / hybrid work or have extensive experience of new ways of working, the asynco community will help improve your practice. One conversation at a time.
By becoming a member of asynco you get to:
“We need to connect, converse, communicate, collaborate, and create within communities of diverse minds with shared values. The asynco community is one of those and I highly recommend it, especially – for the change agents out there – if you’re interested in the future of work or want to explore new, better ways of working."
“I’ve reconnected with old colleagues and have met fascinating new people. The insight shared and depth of conversations I’ve seen in the past five months never ceases to amaze me.” Rob Caldera
“asynco is a deeply focused group of intelligent professionals interacting and exploring the edges of our topic in a pollution-free online community. No bots. No junk. No bull. Yet plenty of laughs and loads of kindness and mutual respect.” Jim Canto
“It feels great to be in a safe, respectful place – where opposing views are seen as a plus and embraced as an opportunity.”
“asynco is always full of useful and interesting conversations about the future of work, whether that’s hybrid, mass scale, or of particular interest for me intersectional with the older workforce.”
“Let's be the safe place to build trust and connectivity.”
“asynco is a safe place to share and learn. I don't travel out of the UK (no planes for me), so it's been amazing to connect with knowledge professionals across the globe. I’ve met some incredible people, and one peer said to me: ‘I don't need to justify any more, I've earned my badges’. It's so empowering – and a privilege to be part of an empowered network.”
“Glad to be part of asynco community. What I've liked the most about asyncoso far is the access to great minds from around the world, learning from them about the ongoing evolution of work, workplace and workforce in this new hybrid and distributed environment.”
The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated a range of work trends, laying bare the vulnerabilities of multiple, interconnected global systems. The escalating climate crisis, increasingly extreme weather events and escalating geopolitical frictions place intense pressure on organisations to future proof.
‘Business as usual’ is no more. For organisations to survive, they must adapt.
Most professionals are concerned for what this means for their skills, occupations and livelihoods. The pace of change has already outstripped human capacity to upskill.
Knowledge workers, and those able to work remotely, need new rituals, routines and ways of working that enhance business and organisational resilience.
Given this new landscape, Working the Future established asynco, an international community of practice, to help shape the future of remote, hybrid, distributed and asynchronous work.
