According to new academic research, office or factory workplace wellbeing schemes are a waste of employers’ time and money.
The study by the London School of Economics found that employees prefer to pursue happiness in their own way. They in expect their employers in turn to take responsibility for providing sufficient work-life balance and decent pay.
It also concludes that employers would do better by concentrating energy and resources on reducing negative aspects of the workplace such as bullying, favouritism, burnout and lack of career progression.
