As part of our ongoing efforts to contribute positively to the wider business ecosystem, we recently joined the non-profit organisation, 1% for the Planet.
So that means we're donating 1% of our annual turnover moving forward to support its environmental causes.
Its global network consists of thousands of businesses and environmental partners working toward a better future.
The most obvious benefit is the tangible positive impact on the environment, of course.
But we figured joining 1% for the Planet offers advantages beyond mere corporate social responsibility commitments.
It also aligns with our awareness that in the mid 2020s, organisations can no longer ignore the climate emergency, and they have a responsibility to do ‘good by doing better’ for a more sustainable world.
Businesses and organisations that form part of this global network also report several strategic and reputational advantages, in areas such as their marketing, PR, networking, and collaborative endeavours. Some of them also enjoy enhanced trust among consumers and boosts to employee engagement levels and workplace cultures.
But it’s the area of business sustainability that we feel shouldn’t be overlooked. Because contributing to the protection of the planet, also helps businesses secure their own long-term sustainability.
After all, a healthy environment in which we can all live and thrive is going to be increasingly vital for long-term economic stability.
